The Graduation Party of Dr. Ndeshihafela Susan Shikongo
13 April 2017, Goreagab, Windhoek
According to the family Dr. Ndeshihafela is the first person in the family to become a medical doctor. She hails from a village called Okafa Okayelele in Omusati region. In her own words, she has successfully completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with the University of Namibia (UNAM). The degree was conferred to her in April this year in Windhoek, hence the Graduation Party by her family. The duration of this degree is 6 years, but if you add what is is called 2 year pre med, it may give you a cool 8 years in totalgether. She is now working at Oshakati State Hospital. The video clips listed here are mainly in Oshiwambo her mother tongue. According to government sources, Namibia faces a serious shortage of medical doctors in state hospitals.
